Internet nowadays has made life much easier. In single click of a mouse, we can perform many businesses or helping us to settle our task in everyday life. Besides, internet nowadays seems very important for us to search and information and current issues as we don’t have to waste time, money and energy to buy newspaper or magazine at the store.
We admitted that blog is one of the popular sources nowadays among the users of the internet as the alternative sources of information in a different point of view. People nowadays are free to write on what they think and they feel towards an issue or maybe a thing that happened in their daily life. Some parties may use the blog to persuade and gaining a trust and believe towards their parties or some people gaining their profit only through blogs.
However, what is more worrying is the misuse of the blogs by some people may question the credibility of the source and the content of the blog itself. Nowadays, it has been used as the channel to incite some other people and bring a negative perception towards another party or using it to spread their negative ideology.
For example, the case of Raja Petra Kamaruddin had been arrested for his statement which is insulting Yang Dipertuan Agong, criticize on Islam’s practices and also his sedition statement on extremism doing of local ethnic. These wrong doing perhaps will threaten the safety of the country thus influenced public to do extremism and violence action.
The use of weblog supposed to be educating, informating and entertaining but what had happens now, the blog has become a placed for negative emotional expression which could harmed the relationship among the public and portraying misbehave of certain people which used the blog to pull out their anger into a blog.
For my opinion, the misuse of the blog should be stopped among the users as it doesn’t bring any benefit to us and also to the public especially to the new generations as we can’t avoid the used of internet and technology in everyday life.
In my point of view, the users of blog should be center in attention. It makes us feel good about ourselves to tell the world what important things we have been doing and what profound thoughts that we have been having. The users also may be able to use the blog as channel to eliminate the frustration, but the comment, opinion and complained should be expressed in a good manner and not using such abusive words.
Moreover, the government should monitor more on the use of blog and might need to filter or restrict some blog which have negative and abusive content. In a conclusion, we should together have self-censorship and control ourselves in order to create a better blog environment as a source of credible media.

Media Dan Jenayah

Carry on 'Open House' tradition to foster unity, says Najib
PEKAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today hosted an Aidilfitri "open house" in his Pekan constituency, and called on Malaysians to carry on the open house tradition to forge greater understanding,
harmony and mutual respect in the multi-ethnic population.
"If we hold open house and receive guests regardless of race and religion, it will be a meaningful avenue to foster national unity founded on the 1Malaysia concept," he said at the event, held at Dataran Pekan here.
The prime minister said an open house would be more meaningful if "we also open our hearts to our guests".
Najib, who is also Umno president, reminded Umno leaders to remain humble and treat the people well when they came to them in both good times and bad.
"If we are on the right track and uphold the 1Malaysia concept, I believe the people will surely extend their support to us, especially at the time when we need it," he said.
Najib and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, played host to more than 50,000 people who thronged the open house from 10am to extend Aidilfitri greetings and partake in the food served at almost 100 stalls.
The Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah; the Sultanah of Pahang, Sultanah Kalsom, and the Tengku Mahkota of Pahang, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, attended the open house.
Also present were Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Pekan Umno Division deputy head Datuk Ishak Muhamad and heads of government departments.
The guests were entertained to songs by several artistes.

Schizophrenics have four times higher potential to commit crime
KUALA LUMPUR: Schizophrenics or persons with mental disorders who fail to get any treatment have a four times higher potential to commit crimes than the ones receiving continuous treatment, said Malaysian Psychiatric Association president Dr Abdul Kadir Abu Bakar.
He said, in fact, schizophrenics who received treatment for their illness, had the lowest potential to commit crime, even lower than normal people.
"So, patients with mental disorders should be given proper and continuous treatment because it will help stabilise their minds and emotions as well as reduce their aggressive and compulsive behaviour.
"This, inadvertently, will reduce their tendencies to commit crimes," he told a press conference in conjunction with Schizophrenia Awareness Day 2010 here today.
Dr Abdul Kadir said among schizophrenic patients, young men had the highest potential to commit crime, but with continuous treatment, the patients could recover with a success rate of 80 per cent.
He said about 2,000 people were diagnosed with schizophrenia every year.
"The incident rate from all over the world is about 15 to 40 schizophrenics for every 100,000 people. So if we calculate, even at the lowest incident rate, we are still missing about 2,000 people with schizophrenia, who are undetected," he said.
Dr Abdul Kadir said family and community intervention were vital to make sure the patients continue taking their medication as the rate of relapse was less than one per cent with the involvement of the family.
Earlier, member of Mental Health Promotion Advisory Council Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye received the Pinel Award 2010 for pioneering a mental healthcare project, while reporters Noor Fazrina Kamal of Utusan Malaysia, Kasmiah Mustapha (New Straits Times) and Lim Cho Noi (Sin Chew Daily) each received the Press Award.

Tangani segera gangsterisme

UiTM : The Source Of Bumi’s Development
Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) is the one and only education institute which belongs to Bumi’s which produced competitive graduation and suits with industry requirement. However, there are still people who questioned and insulting our education institution which the one and only education institute which protect and improve the development of bumiputera. As a student of the UiTM, I believed that I have understood the government objectives and also the value that UiTM would like to put into the heart of the students. Even though I’m still an official student of the UiTM, but I have felt that UiTM has give a lot of favor and good deeds to my live and my education.
It’s all started when I was offered to continued my studies in UiTM pursuing in the field of Communication and Media Studies. Even though I don’t managed to get the exactly course that I wanted to but because my passion to continue my study to a higher level, I accepted the offered with open hands and mind. My parent would never question my decision but in fact that they felt very thankful that I have get the opportunity to further my study in IPTA as I am the only her daughter who manage to get continue in at a university. When I was on registration day, the fees for my study are RM453.00 in first semester. I was surprised. I never expect that the fees would be this cheap and for me it’s the cheapest fees among the university. Other than that, the UiTM has provided us with many facilities during my studies in diploma at Melaka. We have been given a hostel for free from semester 1 until semester 6 plus with food subsidies each and every time we have a meal in campus. Indirectly it helped to reduced cost and help a lot to reduced my parent’s burden in terms of cost. Which else university do provide those many kind of facilities? It is UiTM one and only.
So far, in my 4 year continuing my studies, UiTM has give me a lot of contribution to make me become a well-personality and well-thought to ensure that I’m ready for the outside world and survive in the industry. I was thankful to UiTM because this institution has giving me an opportunity to continue my studies in a higher level. Even though I’m continuing my studies in degree level, but this institution has inspired me to learn and gain as many knowledge as I want and making me a person who love on knowledge. UiTM has just not thought us to know the basic knowledge that we need to have in our field but also preparing us to ready to face the industry. For example, the module of self-development which has been taken every semester is one of the initiatives that the institution wants us to be prepared and developed our self-esteem. Other than that, the subject of third language which becomes a must for every student is ensuring that the students could communicate well and ensure that I would become an additional value which will make us different and ready than other fresh graduates.
There is no other university that serious in providing the best facilities and the best future except for the UiTM. Everthing is here in UiTM and now it depends on us as the student and Bumiputera to choose our path in what to become in the future. The university itself has given us the right path to become a high quality graduates and also the good Bumiputera who could fight for our rights.
